“Lure of the Labyrinth is a digital game for middle-school pre-algebra students. It includes a wealth of intriguing math-based puzzles wrapped into an exciting narrative game in which students work to find their lost pet - and save the world from monsters! Linked to both national and state mathematics standards, the game gives students a chance to actually think like mathematicians.”
There is a wealth of information for teachers as well as resources you will need to use the game in your classroom. Students need to register to play the game but do not have to provide an email address.

Skratch Track is a great virtual bookshelf for kids that is very student friendly. Teachers can add up to 40 student accounts and each student gets their own password and user name. It’s a great way of kids to keep track of what they read throughout the year. And yes…it’s FREE!

Playspace from PBS’ Cyberchase
Great digital storytelling tool with an emphasis on MATH!
#mathchat #literacy #edtech
A neat tool to add to your differentiated learning toolbox.
Includes math (#) stickers along with Cyberchase’s good guys, bad guys, and other assorted objects. Stories can be emailed or printed. I like that the stories are printed out on one page. Students can also add text and their own drawings to their story. Viewing the stories of other kids is also enabled.
A math prompt is given to create a story with but you can easily create one of your own. Students create 3 page stories labeled beginning, middle and end.
Similar to Dot’s Story Factory (Halloween focused) but designed for a little older student.
Fabulous tool. Love the math connection.
